Manager, Loan Servicing

Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing all functions within the mortgage and consumer loan servicing area. Work involves moderate difficulty in the servicing of mortgage and consumer loans throughout the loan servicing lifecycle both in-house and through third parties. Manage teams within the department supporting mortgage and consumer loans. Resources to do the job require knowledge of real estate servicing, post closing and real estate loan documentation as well as strong management and member service skills. General supervision is received from the Sr. Manager, Mortgage Production.

 

Consumer Loan Servicing (15%):

  • Manage the following Consumer loan servicing functions:
    • Post closing - loan documents, titles, recorded liens
    • Monitoring Auto insurance (CPI)
    • Payoffs, releases
    • Financial reporting
    • Member Service
    • Insurance Drafts
    • Rate/payment adjustments

 

Real Estate Loan Servicing (Retail, Correspondent, Participations) (65%):

  • Manage the following RE loan servicing functions:
    • New loan set up and data down load
    • Post closing - loan documents, titles, recorded mortgages
    • Monitoring RE taxes. Flood and HO insurance
    • Payoffs, releases
    • Loan modifications
    • Financial reporting
    • Member Service
    • Loss Draft
    • Rate adjustments
    • Daily, Monthly and Year End system closing and reporting
  • Monitors and manages third party relationships with sub-servicer(s).
  • Monitors and manages third party relationships for outsourced servicing functions such as RE tax monitoring, mortgage insurance, CPI, mortgage satisfactions (releases) and recording.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for mortgage servicing related inquiries.
  • Oversees the collateral and document custody for the credit union.
  • Manages the mortgage servicing system (FICS) to ensure products are set up correctly and are within compliance.
  • Coordinates the delivery of loans sold to Fannie May and Freddie Mac and/or agencies.
  • Recommends and makes changes to lending policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the real estate documents and applications are compliant.
  • Coordinates the servicing related compliance and HMDA for all real estate loans. Contact for Internal Audit and Regulators on servicing related inquiries.
  • Oversees year-end tax reporting.
  • Works with Lending Management and the credit committee to ensure employee loans are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Develops and frequently updates procedures for new and existing processes and products.
  • Maintains an awareness of new trends and developments in the market.
  • Acts as a resource to the training department, may assist in training.
  • May assist Commercial Servicing as back-up for daily functions.

 

Performance Management (20%):

Manages employees in both the Loan Servicing and Titles departments. Responsible for regular performance reviews, coaching and training. Hires, terminates, disciplines and makes salary recommendations according to company policies and procedures. 

Operates a variety of office equipment such as fax, copier and personal computer (all times).

Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with privacy act directives (all times).

 

Requirements

Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, or a related field and minimum five years experience in real estate lending including involvement with loan funding and servicing; or an equivalent combination training and experience. Minimum two to three years experience supervising a lending team.
