Community Relations Associate

Description

Alliant Credit union, the 8th largest credit union in the nation is seeking a goal driven Community Relations Associate for the Oakland branch. The successful candidate is responsible for growing the credit union's membership base by obtaining new member accounts, generating loan applications, cross selling additional products and services and increasing organizational visibility through the development and servicing of new and existing community partnerships and SEGs. Additional responsibilities include the support of civic affairs initiatives, tradeshows, and direct lending events within the assigned market. General supervision is received from the branch manager.

Responsibilities:

New membership: Acquires new member accounts through in-person membership
drives and sales presentations. Services existing membership to deepen and enhance relationships and expand wallet-share through the cross-sell of additional deposit products, consumer loans, and mortgages. Facilitates member education seminars within the assigned territory. Maintains a strong focus on providing outstanding member service and growing new and existing member relationships through relationship analysis and product recommendations. May be cross utilized as a front-line resource to provide service within the branch.

Relationship Development: Targets business prospects through research of local markets and participation in networking events. Works with the Branch Manager to acquire and support local partner relationships and identify marketing and promotional opportunities. Supports local civic affairs initiatives such as Operation Hope, PTA events, and other community outreach programs.
Plans and participates in community related events, car sales, direct lending shows, and other local events which grow business and promote visibility for the credit union.

Requirements

Requirements:

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field and minimum two years experience in business-to-business sales; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have strong member service focus.  Demonstrates ability to lead and participate in outbound sales activities, member drives, and trade shows to achieve new member acquisition and lending referral objectives. Must demonstrate the ability to learn all Alliant products and services and generate new lending and deposits through external events and in-branch activities.  Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain strong partner relationships.  Ability to work with limited supervision and support weekend and out of market events.  Excellent communication and presentation skills. Must successfully complete Balance seminar certification program and demonstrate the ability to design and deliver PowerPoint presentations.  Travel up to 30%, some evenings and weekends required.
