Description
The successful candidate in this position serves as the point of contact for Branches, Telecenter and members who have Individual Retirement Accounts and Educational Savings Accounts. Work involves moderate difficulty in working with operational reports to ensure proper handling of Required Minimum Distributions, exceptions, missing documents, foreign withholdings and over-contributions. Resources to do the job require reliance on knowledge of IRA/ESA/HSA rules and regulations. General supervision is received from the Supervisor of IRA and Special Services.
Handles faxes, mail and telephone requests relating to contributions, prior year contributions, withdrawals, rollovers, transfers (in and out), conversions, recharacterizations, excess contribution withdrawals, return of mistaken distributions, adjustments and distributions due to divorce, etc.
Sets up and maintains Required Minimum Distributions for members who are 70 1/2 and older.
Assists employees/members with information on beneficiaries listed on their accounts.
Assists members with return of mistaken distributions and overdrafts relating to their Health Savings Accounts.
Assists members with adjustments to IRAs/ESAs/HSAs.
Assists employees/members by identifying paperwork required for contributions, withdrawals and beneficiary changes.
Calculates "net income attributable" for removal of excess contributions and recharacterizations.
Requirements
Completion of a Bachelor's degree and one to two years of experience working in the financial industry with Individual Retirement Accounts/Educational Savings Accounts and Health Savings Accounts a plus. Good understanding of IRA Required Minimum Distribution rules. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Acrobat Reader.
