The position is responsible for the development of new mortgage business through mortgage leads received through a variety of credit union channels. Work involves moderate difficulty in consulting with the member in providing solutions to complex mortgage scenarios. Resources to do the job require knowledge of credit union products and mortgage guidelines. General supervision is received from Manager of Mortgage Production.
Responsible for structuring, presenting, and selling mortgage loans through leads generated by incoming member inquiries as well as outbound calling of member leads. May also include originating equity loans and lines. These leads are developed from various sources which may include:
- Incoming member calls
- Referrals from other credit union departments (home equity, branch, call center, etc.)
- Payoff Requests
- Triggers program
- Maturing ARM list
- Other Sources to be determined
Loan Process Quality
Maintains and manages both lead database and loan pipeline to ensure timely communication to all involved and to maintain high member satisfaction through the loan process.
Loan Origination Process
Takes completed loan applications and forwards appropriate mortgage documentation to vendor/partner.
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field and a minimum 2 years of real estate lending experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Sound judgment. PC proficiency and a proven track record in working with third party referral sources.
Maximizes member participation through appropriate selling of all Credit Union products and services. Sets proper member expectations in regard to process, timeline and documentation.
