Senior Data Architect

Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the design, development and implementation of all Enterprise Data Warehouse projects and solutions. Work involves moderate difficulty in working on multiple high-level projects concurrently. Resources to do the job require reliance on technical knowledge of Data Warehousing and reporting concepts, architecture and enhancement. Direction is received from the Manager - Program Development and Database Administration.

Strategy (30%):

  • Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards in conjunction with end users, department managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Establish processes for governing the identification, collection and use of corporate metadata while ensuring accuracy and validity.

 Development (50%):

  • Participates in collaborating with end users on requirements, objectives and measures
  • Develops logical and physical database models
  • Develops technical design documents and mapping specifications
  • Transform business requirements into environment specific ETL and data validation designs

Operational Management (20%):

  • Perform daily monitoring and support of all data load jobs
  • Perform routine administration tasks of the Enterprise Data Warehouse including security, scheduling and troubleshooting
  • Address data related problems in regards to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration
  • Document the architecture and environment in order to maintain a current and accurate view of the Enterprise Data Warehouse

Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with Privacy Act directives.

Requirements

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and minimum four years programming experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be able to develop creative solutions to business problems and work well within a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to view both detail and big picture. Project management experience working as the technology lead on several projects concurrently required.
