Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for SQL Database design and development. Work involves moderate difficulty in troubleshooting database issues and developing recovery procedures. Resources to do the job require reliance on technical skills and credit union policy. General supervision is received from the Manager of Information Systems Design and Architecture.Duties of the position include:Designs, develop, install, and support all Alliant Microsoft SQL databases. SQL DBA will support Business Unit and Application Development, all SQL Server related maintenance, resolve problems related to SQL Server, client problem resolution, performance monitoring and tuning, maintain database backup/recovery environment, develop recovery procedures; support recovery from loss of data caused by application, user or system error. General tasks for this position include but not limited to: SQL Server Architecture Data Warehouse Implementation and Maintenance Administering SQL Server Creating and maintaining Databases Access (Query) tools and Changing Relational Data Optimizing Database Performance Troubleshooting
Requirements
Completion of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field and minimum 5 years of Microsoft SQL Database experience supporting complex database architecture at the enterprise level. Hands on technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL 2000/2005, SQL Cluster Architecture, Server 2003, Active Directory, and LAN/WAN Technologies required. Oracle Database knowledge a plus.
