Alliant Credit Union, the largest credit union in Illinois, is searching for a Supervisor to oversee the operations of IRA, HSA and Special Services. Work will involve the facilitation of workflow, providing guidance and direction to staff, superior member service and timely resolution of all operational issues. Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
Leadership and Operations:
Provides supervision of all employees; exercises sound performance management, and collaborates with Manager to work with employees to create development plans specific to each team member.
Oversees daily operations within the IRA/HSA area, closure of deceased member accounts, MCP claims and maintenance, and Trust Accounts, POA, Subpoena, Levy and Garnishments.
Ensures daily workflow to meet Service Level Agreements.
Reviews the work performed to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Establishes yearly goals, helps employees with growth plans and prepares and administers job performance evaluations.
Provides Marketing information for publication in newsletters and brochures.
Resolves complicated member service and operational issues.
Completes special projects and events such as the RUAEA convention and investment seminars.
Provides guidance and support to all areas in resolving complicated member service and operational issues.
Provides guidance to IRA/HSA & Special Services team regarding complex IRA/HSA rules and regulations and assists with training.
Acts as liaison to the plan administrator to obtain technical and operational assistance.
Provides input to staff and management on implementing legislative and regulatory changes.
Reviews IRA operational forms for compliance and makes suggestions for revisions.
Ensures compliance with IRS reporting requirements to include verification of transactions prior to statement and IRS form 1099 and 5498 production and mailing.
Develops and maintains expertise with IRS rules and regulations governing IRAs/HSAs.
Maintains CUNA IRA Specialist Certification at the highest level.
Works with Training Department to develop programs to cross train staff on IRA/HSA rules and regulations and how to process transactions on the system.
Communicates changes to Credit Union regarding operational processes.
Coordinates IRA/HSA and other specialized training for team.
Completion of a Bachelors degree and a minimum four years experience working in customer service and retirement services; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience working in financial industry or with Individual Retirement Accounts/Educational Savings Accounts/HSAs a plus. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstration of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Acrobat Reader. Must achieve and maintain CUNA IRA Specialist Certification at highest level. Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office products and performing basic calculations. Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.
