Vice President, Information Technology

Description

The incumbent in this position strategically leads and directs long-term goals, policies and procedures for the Credit Union’s information technology department. Proactively determines short and long term systems needs and hardware acquisitions to accomplish the business objectives. Position stays attuned to emerging technology advances and alternatives, industry trends and issues and assesses and provides expert knowledge and recommendations to the Credit Union’s Executive Team.

Systems and Programming Responsibilities:

  • Directs the systems development of IT and Business requirements to support IT Technology Strategic Plan and Business Plan Initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day management of the enterprise network and technology infrastructures, establish priorities and successfully champion innovative solutions focusing on emerging/advanced technology applications.
  • Analyzes proposed and approved projects in terms of cost/benefits of applying information technology.
  • Prepare and oversee short, medium and long-range plans for technical architecture, software systems development, systems maintenance and support resources.
  • Prepare short, medium and long-range business plans for new/enhanced delivery of electronic services that delivers safe, reliable, functional and easy-to-use products and services with a focus to provide members "self-service" functions and features.

Technical Infrastructure Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the many and varied infrastructure applications, programs, systems, platforms and servers to ensure and deliver ‘World Class’ systems and network availability.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Defines and manages approved I.T. budget
  • Lead cross functional teams to support and ensure conceptualization, design, implementation and deployment of IT and business initiatives and projects.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Translate strategic and operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities; deliver on strategy through the right people in the right place at the right time.
  • Deliver superior results through quality execution and best practice adaptation.
  • Provide business vision by creating imagery and transparency in the possibilities, opportunities and direction of the future.
  • Continual assessment, discerning development, insightful coaching and talent utilization/optimization of subordinate leaders of others.
  • Capture, analyze, and understand the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth.
  • Champion of Employee/Internal Customer Engagement, employee development and all cultural hallmarks through strong leadership signatures and a growing command of the Demands of Leadership.
  • Demonstrated courage, ability and agility to understand and address organizational transition in real-time; establish expectations for the unexpected.

 Performance Management Responsibilities:

  • Apply great management practices in leading an engaged workforce to effectively deliver the value of this function.
  • Provide a structural and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis.

 

Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent of 10 plus years of Technical/Management experience in the Technology field managing multiple requirements; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills and budget planning.
  • Sound and proven leadership ability and strong relationship skills.
  • Reliance on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals utilizing a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Effective and consistent management capability.
