What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for managing a centralized operational and compliance risk function to support Alliant’s front-line business units.   Working closely with internal risk partners, business units and outside agents you will design and implement a holistic control management framework to monitor, identify, track and remediate compliance and risk related issues. You will be accountable for managing all facets of the BRO, delivering permanent corrective actions for identified issues and ensuring Alliant maintains the appropriate controls and processes to promote consistency and effectiveness across the organization’s business units.   As a leader in the organization, you must demonstrate a strategic mindset, and sound and proven leadership capabilities: building win-win partnerships, influencing and consulting with key stakeholders, and highly effective written and verbal communication skills.


Do you see yourself doing this?

  • Coordinating with internal risk and compliance counterparts to develop and establish a robust framework, methodologies, standards and action plans for issue remediation management. Working closely with business units to implement the appropriate corrective actions plans and controls for identified compliance issues
  • Identifying opportunities for enhancing risk management and risk measurement practices and working collaboratively with business unit partners to drive improvements
  • Designing, evaluating and managing control environments and the associated monitoring criteria, and baselines for assurance of control effectiveness across business units to measure, detect, and prevent potential non-compliance in Alliant’s day-to-day activities
  • Proactively engaging in sound compliance systems, controls and practices in the overall framework for product and service design, delivery, and administration before implementation
  • Developing and maintaining clear processes for effective tracking, communication and reporting of monitoring and testing results to the appropriate audiences
  • Promoting a risk-aware culture, ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
  • Capturing, analyzing, and understanding the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth


What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to a Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years’ relevant experience (JD or Master’s Degree preferred and CRCM or CUCE certification strongly desired), you have/are:

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing risk management function such as compliance or operational risk management
  • A comprehensive understanding of business unit’s risk and regulatory requirements
  • A solid knowledge of banking industry, financial products and services, and industry best practices for continuously improving a proactive Compliance Management System
  • Leveraged and managed a centralized and systemic tool for tracking, managing data and workflow (e.g. GRC platform, SharePoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
