  • Update and track your progress as you begin putting the pieces of your plan into action

What is BrightLeaf all about?
BrightLeaf's mission is to help as many people as possible create and regularly update a financial plan. Only 5% of Americans have a written financial plan. If you have a plan, you are 250% more likely to achieve your future goals.

How long does it take to create a plan?
First-time users usually take 20-25 minutes to set up a plan. This can be done in one sitting or over time. BrightLeaf saves your information so you can pick up where you left off next time you login.

Do I have to provide my account numbers and passwords?
No. All you need to do is enter the approximate balances of your various accounts and give those accounts nicknames. No financial account numbers or passwords will be needed to use BrightLeaf or to set up a plan.

Is my financial information secure?
BrightLeaf takes data security very seriously and every precaution is taken to protect your information. BrightLeaf uses 256-bit encryption (128-bit for older browsers) to protect data that is transmitted back and forth. No one at BrightLeaf can see your password; in fact, BrightLeaf can only reset your password or send it to you via email.

How often should I use this service?
You should login regularly to update and review your plan. If you have something big happen in your life like getting a new job or buying a new home you should login and update your plan.

What do you do with the information I give you when I sign up?
Only information that is needed from you to customize your advice is collected. For example, your date of birth and your income is needed so some baseline recommendations for retirement, savings and insurance can be made.
