How Visa Checkout works When you use Visa Checkout, you don't have to type your credit or debit card number into the retailer's website when you pay for your purchase. Instead, you just click the Visa Checkout button and type in your Checkout username and password. Visa then sends a payment code to the retailer without giving the retailer your card number.
