Alliant Credit Union Employees Donate Shoes for Stuff for the Poor

11/08/2012

Alliant Credit Union's Civic Affairs Committee sponsored a Shoe Drive to assist poor people in Africa. During this very successful program, many generous Alliant employees donated 465 pairs of gently used shoes that were given to Stuff for the Poor, a non-profit organization based in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Stuff for the Poor's mission is to invest in the future of developing countries and increase their quality of life, utilizing the second-hand goods of developed countries and decreasing the waste in landfills.

Headquartered near O'Hare International Airport at Touhy Avenue and Wolf Road,
Alliant is America's sixth largest credit union in asset size. Alliant's members include employees, family members and retirees of United Airlines and a variety of other select employee groups and organizations around the country.
