Save Every Day: Reusable snack storage
October 25, 2012 | Alliant Credit Union
"Excuse me, is your coffee creamer bottle empty? I'd like it for my Goldfish®," may not be a commonly overheard statement in your lunchroom, but a great way to save money on snacks and containers is to reuse items like bottles from coffee creamers or jars from jellies.
With Pinterest attracting bloggers and DIYers everywhere, the reusable storage ideas are limitless. Keep your snacks fresh and save on buying the pricey airtight containers (some cost nearly $10 per item!) by reusing jars and bottles.
Post a simple sign in the lunchroom of your office, or leave post-it notes when you see a container you may be able to put to good use. Many times containers with wrappers can be easily revealed to expose a clear plastic, which can really showcase your snacks.
Keep them in the back of your car so your kids have an easy-access snack, stow them away in your desk drawer or organize your pantry at home to display your freshly organized goodies.
