Virtual Member Luncheon Transcript
November 15, 2011 | Alliant Credit Union
We invited you to join us Thursday, November 10, 2011 at our first Virtual Member Luncheon. We asked you what you wanted to discuss and a clear winner stood out based on your feedback, so we discussed Alliant Online and Mobile Banking and had the following conversation on Twitter:
Q: @AlliantCU Any new features or UI (User Interface) improvements planned for the iPhone app? #AskingDave
A: Currently in testing is BillPay, P2P (Person to Person) Payments and Mobile Remote Deposit Capture. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Any plans for mobile deposit and new mobile app #AskingDave
A: Yes, we're currently testing Mobile Remote Deposit Capture and we will be looking at a new mobile app. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Are you considering ebills #AskingDave
A: We are considering eBills, but no specific timeline at this time. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU plans to let secondary account holders log in with either their own member id (if members)/create a login? #AskingDave
A: Stay tuned for updates in 2012 regarding this. Thank you for your patience. #AskingDave
A: However, joint owner maintenance will be available shortly. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Have you considered adding 2-factor authentication to online banking? e.g. Google Authenticator, YubiKey, etc. #AskingDave
A: We currently do have 2-factor authentication, but look for updates to Online Banking security in the beginning of 2012. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Sorry, I meant 2-factor using a hardware token, not security questions. #AskingDave
A: Thanks, our security team is reviewing this for the future. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Any plans to increase usability of PFM (Personal Finance Management) - like being able to run reports etc.. #AskingDave
A: What type of reports would you be interesting in seeing in our PFM? #AskingDave
A: @AlliantCU Money in/out, CATEGORIES etc... some items exist on sidebar but limited details #AskingDave
A: We would love to hear more about your suggestions, we'll send you a DM. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Would love mobile P2P, RDC. What about mobile PFM or mobile rewards based on proximity? #AskingDave
A: For mobile PFM, we are evaluating integrating this feature sometime in 2012. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Would be nice to sort transactions geographically like Bank Simple but imagine its a ways off #AskingDave
A: Thank you for the suggestion! #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Mobile Banking scares me. How do I know its secure? Does ACU offer video demos on their website? #AskingDave
A: Our mobile banking has the same level of security as online banking. If you would like more information, please send us a DM (Direct Message). #AskingDave
A: We're working on online banking videos for 2012. Stay tuned... #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Any plans to do what Chase does and allow users to "text their account" to receive account balances? #AskingDave
A: We don't have text banking in our plans, but look for our mobile optimized banking site soon. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Will mobile app be expanded to ipad or tablet devices #AskingDave
A: Yes, the expansion will be to the iPad for now. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Any plans on an iPad app? Would it have your PFM capabilities and eventually P2P? That would be great. #AskingDave
A: We do have plans for an iPad app with P2P capabilities, but the PFM will not be available through the app at this time. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Would be nice to link your social sites from within online banking, especially Twitter to DM you from there #AskingDave
A: We're not planning on integrating social at this time, but have plans to expand online member service capabilities. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Will the P2P payments be "in house" or use something like Pop Money? #AskingDave
A: We'll have more information closer to the release of P2P payments. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Will the new mobile/ipad app be an in house design #AskingDave
A: We unfortunately can't disclose that at this time. #AskingDave
Q: We have a question for you now: How often do you use Alliant Mobile Banking and what features do you use the most? #AskingDave
A: @AlliantCU Check it every day (somewhat obsessively) and mainly just look at what my money is doing. #AskingDave
A: @AlliantCU Don't use the mobile app very often. It always seems to crash alot. #AskingDave
A: @AlliantCU Every day, and transaction history, bill pay, and online check deposit. Also, statements when available. #AskingDave
A: @AlliantCU I use it daily. Mostly to check the status of the accounts but also to transfer funds. #AskingDave
A: @AlliantCU #AskingDave I use my mobile android app to check my balances, I will use it more when i can see my credit card transactions
We also received a couple questions about our debit cards too:
Q: @AlliantCU Any plans for new debit card designs that are more, uh... visually cohesive? Like blue/gray instead of lime green? #AskingDave
A: We're reviewing the design of our cards and may offer new designs soon. Thanks for the suggestion. #AskingDave
Q: @AlliantCU Would there be a fee to update to a new more sleek look ;) #AskingDave
A: We currently have a replacement card fee in our schedule, but we're evaluating it. #AskingDave
Thank you to everyone that attended!
