Take advantage of free balance transfers.

If you currently hold a balance on your credit card, you may be paying a higher interest rate than you need to. Alliant offers a free balance transfer with the VISA® Platinum and Platinum Rewards Cards, along with rates as low as 0% APR¹ for qualifying members. This way, you will save money every month on interest without paying a fee to transfer your balances.

Once you have transferred the balance from one card to another, evaluate your financial situation again. If you can, find a few extra dollars each month to put toward paying down your debt. The sooner you pay off a debt, whether it be an auto loan or credit card, the sooner you will have that monthly payment to put into savings.
