Tip Fifty-Five

It’s tea time.
Many of us can't function without our morning Cup O' Joe, but consuming high doses of caffeine has risks. Consider switching to tea after your first cup of coffee in the morning; green tea is full of antioxidants and has much less caffeine than coffee. The cost of tea is also a large benefit as cup-for-cup it is more affordable than coffee. One pound of coffee yields around 45 cups of coffee, while a pound of tea yields anywhere from 150-200 cups; it is approximately $12-18 for a pound of gourmet coffee and $10 for a pound of tea.
Not enough flavor for you? Add some honey for even more antioxidants and sweetness, or a slice of lemon for a citrus-bursting wake-up call.
Also, when meeting friends or going on a date at the local coffee shop, ordering tea is about half the cost of a frothy latte. Herbal teas have little to no caffeine and are readily available at most cafes. Take the plunge and try this healthy, delicious beverage!
