Calculate your purchases in terms of hours worked.
Saying no to "must-have" items can be tough. Make saying no a little easier by looking at your after tax salary in terms of hourly compensation. When you're debating your next purchase, compare its price to how many hours it would take you to earn that amount. Now ask yourself, is it worth it?
