Tip Thirty-Nine
January 24, 2012
Free trials expire.
It's easy to be tempted by the lure of free trial subscriptions, or reduced-rate period, but don't forget that the trial period has an expiration date so you don't get charged for a subscription you don't use. Once the free trial period is over it will automatically begin the paid subscription and some may even lock you into paying in advance for the year. Set a reminder on your phone or calendar when the trial period ends, so that you can cancel the subscription. Don't get stuck paying for something that you don't want or won't use.
Don't forget to check the small print of the subscription if decide to continue with the subscription too, because it may automatically renew next year. If you decide you don't want it and forget to cancel, you may get stuck with paying for another year.
