"Phishing" Attempt (CUNA 08/11/08)

Alliant Credit Union was recently informed that there is a fraudulent e-mail being sent to people that appears to be coming from CUNA (Credit Union National Association) regarding "YOUR CREDIT UNION REWARDS YOU". The e-mail contains a link to a web site that solicits personal financial information.

Please be aware that this email is not from CUNA. It is a fraudulent e-mail and web site that has been set up to steal account information from financial customers.

Contact us immediately if you think unauthorized access or fraud has occurred in connection with your Alliant Credit Union accounts. Report such incidents to your local Alliant Credit Union Service Center or to a Member Service Representative at (800) 328-1935 (24/7).

Text Message Scams (06/16/08)

Alliant Credit Union has been informed that several of our members have received text messages informing them that their account has been locked or compromised. The message then informed the recipient to call a phone number where they can enter some personal information, such as their account number or credit/debit card number to unlock or verify their account.

This is a fraudulent text message and phone number that has been setup to steal account information from financial customers. There have been reports that other financial institution’s customers and members have been receiving the same text message.

Alliant Credit Union will never solicit you for personal information, such as account number, credit / debit card numbers, passwords or PINs.
