Alliant Credit Union Again Named One of Country’s Best Workplaces

10/17/2017

CHICAGO – For the second straight year, Alliant Credit Union has been named one of the country’s best workplaces by Fortune and consulting firm Great Place to Work®. Alliant took the No. 83 spot on Fortune’s 100 Best Medium Workplaces list.

Earlier this year, Alliant earned Great Place to Work certification following an extensive independent analysis survey in which 92 percent of surveyed Alliant employees rated the Chicago-headquartered company a great workplace.  Alliant also was recognized as the No. 6 Best Small & Medium Company to Work for in Chicago in 2017 and has won the Gallup Great Workplace Award two years in a row.

“We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition, which is just another testament to Alliant’s commitment to growing and nurturing our employees and our company culture,” Alliant CEO Dave Mooney said. “We always strive to keep employee engagement front and center while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, and that approach has helped drive our business for more than 80 years.”

According to Great Place to Work, 92 percent of surveyed Alliant employees say their workplace is great, 97 percent say Alliant has a great atmosphere and 96 percent take great pride in working for Alliant.

Alliant Enterprise Project Manager Diana Martinez has experienced first-hand the company’s commitment to nurturing employees’ growth. She began her career eight years ago as an Alliant Member Call Center representative and worked her way up to become a project manager, one of her personal career goals.

“You can be great at many things, but it also takes good management to recognize you and promote you, to coach you and mentor you, so you can really flourish,” Martinez said. “Because we’re a smaller company, each person takes a big responsibility in their role and has the opportunity to be part of innovation. I’m home-grown here, Alliant is my family, and my opinion matters.”

Alliant is one of nine Illinois companies on Fortune’s 100 Best Medium Workplaces list. Companies with between 100 and 999 employees compete for placement; Alliant employs 481 people at its Rolling Meadows headquarters, Chicago office and credit union branches across the country.

"The Best Small & Medium workplaces are laying the groundwork for future success by building trust, cooperation and leadership credibility. All of these enhance business performance and create a positive environment for doing business,” said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work.

The Great Place to Work Recognition Program only recognizes companies with high, organization-wide employee approval.
