Alliant Credit Union Employees Donate Food and Supplies for Northwest Suburban Chicago Residents

01/04/2012

Alliant Credit Union Chicago area employees recently completed a Holiday Food Drive to benefit northwest suburban Chicago residents needing assistance. Coordinated by Alliant’s Civic Affairs Committee, the charity drive collected hundreds of non-perishable food and household items. These items were donated to the Maine Township Community Food Pantry, which distributes to people in the Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Niles, Glenview, Morton Grove and Rosemont communities. In addition, some Alliant employees donated money for the food pantry’s purchase of goods for those in need. Alliant Credit Union Foundation is providing a grant, also.

After receiving Alliant donations, Food Pantry Coordinator, Carol Langan, said, “These contributions have been extremely helpful to our holiday assistance efforts and greatly appreciated by local people in need. We’re thankful and delighted about the quantity and quality of the donations made by Alliant employees.”

Alliant President & CEO David Mooney said, “We’re dedicated to helping worthwhile charities provide for people in need and we’re very proud of our employees for contributing so generously to this cause. With more and more people affected by these difficult economic times, it’s extremely important to provide assistance, especially during the Holiday season.”

Alliant is among America’s largest and strongest credit unions. Members include United Airlines employees, retirees and their family members, along with those of many other organizations throughout the country. Alliant membership is also available to those who live or work in a number of suburban Chicago communities.
