Alliant Credit Union Employees Pull A Cargo Jet To Raise Money For Special Olympics Illinois

10/21/2011

Two teams of 20 employees each from Chicago-based Alliant Credit Union recently participated in the 2011 Plane Pull to benefit Special Olympics Illinois, held at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. The Alliant teams competed among 25 others from Chicago area public safety, service and business communities who pulled a UPS cargo aircraft 12 feet in a tug-of-war style event.

Alliant Credit Union Foundation donated money to Special Olympics on behalf of the credit union's employee volunteers by paying their $50 Plane Pull registration fees totaling $2,000 for the 40 Alliant employee volunteers. According to Ms. Sandy Beckman, Alliant's Supervisor of Member & Special Services, who coordinated the credit union's Plane Pull involvement, "Pulling that plane along the runway was unbelievable, and we really loved helping Special Olympics."

Wayne Rosenwinkel, Alliant Credit Union Chief Investment Officer and Foundation Vice President, volunteered for the event as well. He saluted all participating Alliant employees and said, "Our Foundation is delighted to donate to such a worthy cause. We really like supporting and encouraging Alliant employees who volunteer for charitable activities such as the Plane Pull for Special Olympics."
