Alliant Credit Union Named 2016 Gallup Great Workplace Award Winner

04/21/2016

One of only 35 companies to win this award nationally

Alliant is proud to announce that it has received the 2016 Gallup Great Workplace Award. The award recognizes organizations for their extraordinary ability to create engaged workplace cultures that drive business outcomes.

Alliant joins a prestigious group of organizations that average a ratio of 14:1 engaged employees to disengaged employee, which is more than seven times the national average and 21 times the international average. For context, only 31.5% of U.S. employees were engaged in 2015, per Gallup’s findings.

“It’s thrilling to see our employees get recognized for what they bring to the table every day,” said Alliant CEO Dave Mooney. “Our employees’ feedback is leading the way when it comes to both operating and cultural improvements -- but we’re also being proactive.

We make sure to celebrate our successes and milestones. And, we do all we can to keep our team members happy, healthy and highly engaged through various initiatives like personalized development plans, wellness fairs, and onsite chair massages.”

Why do engaged employees matter? In short, highly engaged employees mean better business. Organizations with highly engaged workforces can outperform their peers by 147% in earnings per share as employee enthusiasm frequently fuels business growth.

“The world’s top-performing organizations help lead the global economy by engaging their workforces,” said Jim Harter, Ph.D., Gallup’s chief scientist of workplace management and well-being. “Gallup’s Great Workplace Award winners understand and acknowledge the importance of employee engagement by making it a vital part of their organization while using it as a driving force to create real business outcomes.”

All of the award recipients have shown measurable business impact as a result of having a more engaged workforce by cultivating a workplace culture of engagement that includes strong:

  • strategy and leadership
  • accountability and performance
  • communication and knowledge management
  • development and ongoing learning

A panel of Gallup workplace experts evaluates applicants and assesses them against criteria established by the most comprehensive workplace study ever conducted. The top organizations selected gain entry into an elite group of companies that have received the Gallup Great Workplace Award. Gallup will honor the 35 winners during its Spring Summit in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 10-12, 2016.
