Alliant Named Credit Union of the Year by NAFCU

06/21/2019

Alliant Credit Union’s successful growth, financial stewardship and community involvement led to its selection as the 2019 Credit Union of the Year by the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU).

The award recognizes Alliant’s recent contributions and achievements, including:NAFCU 2019 Credit Union of the Year Winner

Tremendous membership growth. In the last five years, Alliant has grown its membership base by 155 percent and now serves more than 450,000 members nationwide. And as Alliant continues to grow, it also continues to invest in member services. The addition of 48 phone reps in the member care center last year alone has helped improve service and cut average call times significantly.

Realizing its long-term “digital shift” strategy. Alliant has focused on creating simple, best-in-class digital banking platforms, building data-driven marketing communications, and enhancing customer care technology and talent. In 2018, Alliant released 13 mobile banking updates and 10 online banking platform updates, and transitioned all consumer loan openings to its award-winning online loan application system. Also, the creation of a new digital care team allows members to reach out on platforms they’re familiar with, including email and social media.

Displaying consistently sound financial judgment. Every step of Alliant’s approach to financial stewardship is motivated by Alliant’s commitment to provide outstanding value and experience for members.

Giving back to the community. Alliant works with Operation HOPE’s Banking On Our Future program, which offers communities and schools free financial literacy courses. Alliant employees volunteer to teach classes to eighth-graders in schools near the company’s Chicago headquarters. The Alliant Credit Union Foundation and several other employee-driven initiatives throughout the year give time and funds to organizations in Illinois and beyond.

“Our commitment to helping our members achieve their financial goals while making their day-to-day lives a little easier is the driver behind everything we do at Alliant,” Alliant CEO Dave Mooney said.

Alliant was honored during NAFCU’s 52nd Annual Conference on June 19 in New Orleans along with NAFCU’s other 2019 award winners. Alliant was the winner among credit unions with more than $250 million in assets.
