The new way to sign your name for an Alliant loan – electronically
September 20, 2010
Now, there’s an easier, more convenient way for you to execute an Alliant loan agreement and get your funds faster – by signing your contract online with an electronic signature. This procedure uses a legally-binding, secure online process that is becoming widespread by businesses around the world.
Today, you can e-sign for an Alliant auto, RV, motorcycle, boat, airplane, student and unsecured loan. Or, you can continue to apply for and sign these loans the “old fashioned” way – with pen and paper. (Note: E-signature approvals are not used for Alliant mortgages, credit cards, home equity loans or HELOCs.)
All you need is a computer, tablet or smart phone with an Internet connection to e-sign your Alliant loan. It’s a simple process.
1. When you apply for a loan, inform your loan consultant that you want to sign electronically. When your loan is approved, an Alliant loan officer will send you an e-mail containing a link to your loan document.
2. When you open the link, a prompt will appear asking you to enter your name and other
information. You’ll then be prompted to answer a series of security questions to verify your identity.
3. You’ll then be directed to a consumer disclosure page to read and agree to. You’ll also
be given a few representations of your name and initials to choose from and adopt as your
e-signature for the contract.
4. Next, you’ll be guided through the loan document with pointers indicating the places where you’ll need to sign or initial your acceptance.
5. You’ll then have the option of reviewing (and printing) the whole document again. You can then execute the agreement by hitting the “complete signing” bar.
6. Now, you can download and print your completed document. You’ll also get an e-mail
notifying you that the document is complete.
Note: Due to changes in federal regulations, Alliant no longer offers open-ended auto, RV, motorcycle, boat, airplane, student or unsecured loans. Using our new electronic signature will help make it easier for you to review the documents and get your funds faster.
