Do I have to touch the checkout machine with my card?

You do not have to touch your card to the card scanner at checkout in order to make a purchase. Although contactless cards are sometimes referred to as “tap to pay” cards, you don’t have to actually tap. As long as you place the card within an inch of the card scanner, your transaction can be processed.
