Important Information: Balance Transfer Offer Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions about balance transfers: How long will it take for my balance transfer to post to my Alliant card? Most transfers will post 5-7 business days after they are submitted, but they could take up to 15 business days. The timeframe is dependent on how quickly the payee processes the transferred amount. You should continue to make all required payments to your other accounts until you confirm that the balance transfer was completed. Alliant Credit Union will not be responsible for any finance charges or late fees incurred due to your nonpayment. Please keep this in mind as the balance transfer must be posted to your Alliant card by June 13, 2021, in order to take advantage of the promotional offer, otherwise your standard variable balance transfer APR will be applied. Be sure to use the correct creditor address when submitting your transfer, otherwise, it could take up to three weeks for the balance transfer to be posted. Will I pay interest on purchases after I transfer a balance? Yes, per your cardholder agreement, you will be charged interest on purchases unless you pay your entire statement balance in full by the payment due date. If you are used to paying off your Alliant credit card every month but are now carrying a balance because you performed a balance transfer from this offer, you will incur interest on other transactions outside of this promotion. What happens if I don’t pay off the transferred balance by the time the promo period expires? Your standard variable APR will apply to any remaining balance you transferred under the offer. Can I use a balance transfer to pay or be deposited into another Alliant account? No, you cannot use these checks to pay an Alliant loan or deposit them into any Alliant accounts. These checks can only be made payable to other financial institutions or merchants and will be rejected if used otherwise. How are my payments applied after I transfer a balance? A minimum payment is still required. To the extent your payments exceed the minimum payment due each billing period, we will apply them to balances with higher rates prior to balances with lower rates. What if I have not activated my credit card yet? If you have not activated your credit card, please log in to Alliant mobile or online banking to activate your card, or call 1-866-444-8529 before taking advantage of this balance transfer offer. Are there any other limitations or details I should know about the balance transfer offer? Amounts transferred are subject to your available credit limit. We are not required to honor a balance transfer request that will cause you to exceed your available credit limit. If your account is delinquent 30 days or more or no longer in good standing at the time of posting, the balance transferred will not qualify for the promotional rate. Each balance transfer performed in conjunction with this offer will be treated as a Balance Transfer as described in your Credit Card Agreement. This balance transfer offer including the attached convenience checks is void after June 13, 2021. Like any check, these convenience checks are negotiable and should be destroyed if you do not plan to use them.
