Why is there $5 in my account?

Great question! To open an account and keep it open, we require an initial deposit of $5.00, so that first deposit is on us. When you joined Alliant, we automatically deposited that amount in your account. It’s one small way of saying, we’re glad you’re here and hope you never leave!
