Alliant Credit Union Named One of Country’s Best Workplaces

10/17/2016

CHICAGO – Alliant Credit Union has been named the No. 69 Best Medium Workplace in the country by Fortune and consulting firm Great Place to Work®.

The honor comes on the heels of Alliant’s 2016 Great Place to Work certification, which found that more than 90 percent of Alliant employees rated the Chicago-headquartered company a great workplace via extensive independent survey analysis.

“This recognition is a testament to Alliant’s vision to nurture our company culture, which has played a key role in engaging our associates and driving our business results for over 80 years,” Alliant CEO Dave Mooney said. “That inclusive, empowering culture is one of our greatest competitive advantages and is something we are incredibly proud of.”

According to Great Place to Work, 95 percent of Alliant employees said Alliant has a great atmosphere and they feel proud to work for Alliant. That’s why the latest accolade comes as no surprise to employee Michael Wheaton.

“From the moment I began working at Alliant, they made me feel like I was part of the team,” said Wheaton, who joined Alliant earlier this year as a Business Process Analyst. “Alliant does a great job of bringing in the right person for the role and giving them the support they need to grow their skillset and career. Alliant also believes in employees having a healthy work-life balance, and a lot of companies are out of touch with that.”

Alliant is the only Chicago-area non-profit organization and one of 10 Greater Chicago companies on the list of 100 Best Medium Workplaces. Companies with between 100 and 999 employees compete for placement; Alliant employs 440 people at its Rolling Meadows headquarters, Chicago office and credit union branches across the country.

“There’s a generosity of spirit that infuses the Best Small and Medium workplaces — one that has a measurable return … and they get it back in the form of inspired people who innovate harder and generate higher revenue,” said Kim Peters, Executive Vice President of Great Place to Work.

The Great Place to Work Recognition Program only recognizes companies with high, organization-wide employee approval. A summary of Alliant employee ratings and other pertinent information can be found at http://reviews.greatplacetowork.com/alliant-credit-union.
