How we attract and maintain diverse talent

  1. Confronting unconscious bias

Hiring managers are provided training materials to help.

  2. Ensuring candidate diversity

Our recruiters and hiring managers actively seek out professionals who are looking to grow in their field through job fairs and social networking sites.

  3. Fostering an inclusive culture

Through employee diversity training, inclusive language and employee resource groups, we are building an environment where all employees can speak up, be heard, and feel respected while being their most authentic selves.

  4. Growing diversity in leadership positions

We are committed to building a leadership team that better reflects the diverse makeup of the communities we serve. Our team deserves role models and mentors that accurately reflect them as well.

Diversity and inclusion in the workplace

Inclusion is not just something that happens. It’s a way of thinking and doing that fosters respect, acceptance and growth. We know that the best ideas stem from conversations where all voices feel heard, represented and valued. In addition to diversifying our business and supplier partners outside of Alliant, here are a few of the ways we are working to ensure an equitable environment for our team.

Employee Resource Groups

Our new and rapidly-growing ERGs, ALL (LGBTQIA+ group), EMPOWER (Black Professionals Network) and INCLUDE (women's group), meet regularly to problem-solve, network, and brainstorm ways to influence and impact the way we do work.

Parental leave

Natural, adoptive, and foster parents are given up to six consecutive weeks of paid leave to settle into their new role of caring for a little one.

Competitive benefits

We offer excellent, well-rounded benefits and resources that protect our employees and their families. Our offerings have recently expanded to further prioritize mental health and wellness.

WFH flexibility

In 2020, our digital-first model helped us discover how flexible our team truly was. Within one week, we had 95% of our team set up to work remotely so they could safely continue to serve our members.

Accessibility

Our initiatives not only focus on making accommodations for our own team, but to optimize digital content accessibility for our members and future savers alike!

Equal pay

Alliant employees can trust that their time and talents are receiving fair and equitable compensation thanks to practices like published pay rates and regular market adjustments.

It's so empowering to work for a company that is eager to make strides toward eliminating gender and racial inequities. I feel confident coming to the table with ideas, and I know that my thoughts will always be valued and respected. It's truly life-changing to be a part of a culture like this.
