Alliant Credit Union will never solicit you to provide:
The only time you should provide this information is if you initiate the call.
Alliant is committed to operate with the industry’s best security systems to protect your personal and account information against ID theft and fraud. In addition to current online banking security measures, you’ll benefit from our Enhanced Security process to help ensure that your account can only be accessed by you.
To sign up for online banking Enhanced Security, you’ll be required to provide the answers to personal security challenge questions you choose from a list of available questions. After an initial grace period, in which you can bypass the Enhanced Security enrollment, you will be required to go through the enrollment process in order to access online banking.
The demo is intended to be an accurate representation of use, not of content. New features may be added, but the service and functions will remain constant.
Why is Alliant introducing Enhanced Security?
Alliant is committed to protecting our members’ accounts with the very best in online security systems. That’s why we’ve introduced our Enhanced Security process as a new way to further safeguard your personal identity and account information through online banking. This enhancement is designed to defend you from unauthorized access and to further ensure that only you are able to access your account information and to conduct online banking transactions on your account.
What is Enhanced Security?
Enhanced Security is an added layer of security to protect your online financial transactions. We will provide you with a series of multiple-choice questions and ask you to select four of them to answer. In various transaction situations, you may be asked one of your “personal security challenge” multiple-choice questions to gain or maintain access to your account.
When will Enhanced Security become live?
The new login procedure was introduced early spring, 2007.
Will my online banking access code change?
No, you will continue to use your member account number and the personal access code you use today.
Will I be required to enroll into this new Security Enhancement process?
Yes, the enrollment process will prompt you to set up at least four personal security challenge questions and answers. However, during an initial grace period, you’ll have the ability to bypass the enrollment procedures and login directly to online banking. After this grace period, you will be required to go through the enrollment process in order to access online banking.
How do I enroll in Enhanced Security?
You will be required to provide the answers to four personal security challenge questions you choose from a list of available questions. Each question will have a drop down menu of multiple choice answers to choose from.
When will I be asked a personal security challenge question?
The information you provide will be used as an enhanced second security layer to authenticate your identity. You will not be asked a personal security challenge question every time you login to online banking. However, in the event that your online banking session meets a pre-defined set of criteria, we’ll ask that you answer one of your personal security challenge questions to confirm your identity and prevent anybody else from accessing your accounts.
If I have a joint owner on my account, will he or she also need to select challenge questions and answers?
No. Each account will be set up with only one set of challenge questions and answers.
What should I do if I forget the answers I selected?
If prompted to answer your personal challenge security questions and you do not remember your answers, you can re-establish access to online banking by using the “New User, Temporary Access Code, or Forgot Your Access Code?” link on the login page or by calling us at 800-328-1935. You will then be required to re-enroll in the Enhanced Security process by choosing to answer four personal security challenge questions again.
Who do I contact if I have any further questions regarding the new Enhanced Security process?
Thank you for being an Alliant member and for using online banking. Ongoing, we’ll continue to use the best state-of-the-art systems available to ensure your personal and account information remains safe and secure.
