1 Cash Back option is provided as an account credit to your Platinum Rewards Visa credit card.
2 The introductory APR will apply to purchases and balance transfers made during a promotional period of 12 months from the opening of your Visa account. After this promotional period ends your standard APR will apply to all new purchases and balance transfers, and all unpaid balances.
3 The APR on purchases and balance transfers may increase or decrease quarterly. The rate will be determined by adding the highest U.S. Prime Rate published in The Wall Street Journal during the last business day of the previous calendar quarter plus a margin of 7.99% to 19.99% APR. The U.S. Prime rate as of September 30, 2013 was 3.25% APR. The APR you receive is determined based on your creditworthiness. APR = Annual Percentage Rate.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often does the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) change on the Alliant Visa Platinum credit cards?
The APR on new purchases and balance transfers may increase or decrease quarterly. The rate will be determined by adding the highest U.S. Prime Rate published in The Wall Street Journal during the last two business days of the previous calendar quarter plus a margin of % to % APR.
Why should I get my Visa® from Alliant over another vendor?
If you’re an Alliant Credit Union member, a Platinum Rewards Visa® from Alliant makes perfect sense because they’re tailored to give you the purchasing power you deserve, while saving you money over higher interest rate credit cards with every statement. We offer a great interest rate–that's not a promotion or introductory rate that will eventually go away. Plus, Alliant does not charge an Annual Fee or Balance Transfer Fee unlike other credit cards.
What kind of Visa® Credit Card does Alliant offer?
We give you the option to choose from Platinum and Platinum Rewards credit cards. You’ll enjoy the same features and benefits with either card, but with Platinum Rewards you will earn bonus points for every net dollar you spend on the card. Rewards bonus points can be redeemed for valuable merchandise, travel and more.
Does Alliant offer EMV chip-enhanced Visa® Credit Cards?
Yes, Alliant now offers EMV chip-enhanced cards, offering you greater global acceptance and enhanced security. EMV, which stands for Europay, MasterCard and Visa, is a global standard for credit and debit payment cards using embedded microchips. Alliant’s EMV credit card has an embedded microchip that allows you to pay at international merchants where chip cards are the standard. Alliant cards also have a magnetic stripe on the back, so you can continue to make purchases domestically by swiping your card and signing a receipt. To learn more about EMV and how to request your own EMV chip-enhanced Alliant Visa credit card, refer to our EMV Chip-Enhanced Cards FAQ.
Do I need MEMBER’S CHOICE™ Credit Card Protection for my credit card?
The decision of whether to add our low cost MEMBER’S CHOICE™ Credit Card Protection payment protection to your card is up to you. For only pennies a day, you’ll be protecting you, your credit and your family from loss should you be unable to make your payment due to an unexpected disability or death.
Can I transfer balances from my other credit cards?
Yes, Alliant offers you the opportunity to transfer balances from your other credit cards (national or store cards) and save money with a lower interest rate. We won’t charge you a fee to transfer the balances to your Platinum Rewards Visa® either, like other institutions do. You can transfer balances from other high interest credit cards when you apply for the card, or anytime by logging in to your account and selecting "Balance Transfer" under the options for your credit card, or by contacting a Member Service Representative.
How can I maximize my rewards?
It’s simple… the more you use your Alliant Platinum Rewards Visa®, the more Alliant Rewards points you accumulate and the greater potential rewards you can get. Save for a cruise, airline tickets, electronics, cash back, gift cards, and more. Items and services you can redeem for rewards are always being added, so check your rewards catalog frequently.
Do Alliant Platinum Rewards Visa® points expire?
Points will expire four years from the end of the calendar year in which they were earned, and will expire on a first-in, first-out basis annually (e.g., points earned in calendar year one will expire on the last business day of calendar year five).
Visa® Credit Card Blocked Transactions
At Alliant, security is one of our top priorities. To help protect your personal identity and Alliant accounts against fraudulent activity, we will occasionally block transactions in foreign countries and other areas where fraud is widespread.
