Tip Seventy-Seven

Give your fridge a fall cleaning.
After a summer of barbeques and fresh fruit salads, your fridge may be feeling dingy from all the leftovers you have been trying to finish off.
Focus on emptying all the in-between-season leftovers out of the fridge. Find recipes for all the ingredients you've been meaning to use up and clear out the near-empty bottles of condiments.
Once the shelves are manageably empty, move the contents of your fridge into coolers for an afternoon while you scrub the shelves. Store a baking soda pack in the fridge to keep your fridge smelling fresh.
Now, you can start new and fill your fridge with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Soups, stews and casseroles are great comfort foods you can make on a budget and having room to store the leftovers in your clean fridge will be a real treat!
