Tip Thirty-Three
December 13, 2011
Winterize your home.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that the average cost to heat a home last winter was $986 and the bad news is that heating prices are expected to rise modestly this year. To reduce the cost of your home and save up to 50% on total heating costs, winterize your home. Block leaks on the interior and exterior of your home, make sure the top of your home is in tip-top shape, gut out the gutters, check your furnace, protect the pipes that aren't insulated and get your equipment ready.
